Brazil-China Relations: More than Meets the Eye

In an effort to address the developing ties between Brazil and China and the impact of these on the US-Brazil bilateral relationship, the Brazilian-American Chamber of Commerce, in association with the Council of the Americas, organized the “2011 Brazil-China Seminar”, which took place on Thursday, February 24th in New York City. Roberto Azevedo, Executive Director of the Brazilian-American Chamber of Commerce, Inc. opened the program, defined the framework of the discussion, and then invited Eric Farnsworth, Vice President of the Council of the Americas, to moderate. Three expert speakers provided over 150 attendees with keen insights into the complex interest of China in Latin America’s largest economy, and offered several predictions on how the pursuit of these interests could potentially effect Brazil-US relations.
